What made me decide to have a go at making my own cookies was seeing a post on Facebook from one of the groups. Plus I love them! Normally I treat myself to buying Millie’s cookies.
What ingredients do you need?
Brown sugar – 4oZ (100g)
Butter or margarine – 4oZ (100g)
Self raising flour- 6oZ (150g)
Golden syrup or honey – 1 table spoon
Chocolate chips – 2oZ (50g)
Vanilla extract (optional) – half a teaspoon
And of course an oven to bake them in!
Prepare the baking tray by greasing it with some margarine or butter, so it’s ready to use once the dough is mixed.
Preheat the oven to gas mark 3/180C/170C (fan).
Add the brown sugar, butter and syrup into the mixing bowl, beat together using the wooden spoon.
Next put in the flour, chocolate chips and vanilla extract, give them a mix.
Seperate the dough into approximately 15 pieces, then roll each of them into a ball using your hands, and place on baking tray. (They will spread on cooking, and flatten when they cool down)
Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
Let them cool (ideally on a open rack), and enjoy! Yummy!
